Renowned as one of Russia’s top costume designers Marina specialises in costumes design for opera, ballet and children’s theatre. Trained at the prestigious Moscow Textile Academy, where she received a thoroughgoing education in the history of costume, Marina Turova has worked since 1981 as a fashion, set and costume designer for theatre, cinema, television, ballet, opera, circus and cabaret. She has worked for Moscow’s most prestigious theatres, including the Bolshoi and the Vakhtangov, where she was resident costume designer from 1986-1991. She has worked for Russia’s most prestigious directors, including Nikita Mikhailkov, Andrei Konchalovsky and Roman Viktyuk.
